OUR IMPACT
1000
STUDENTS SERVED
For the past four years, TSOB has served 500+ students across Tampa, Atlanta, and New Orleans — and we're just getting started.
What began as an experimental summer program has grown into a national pipeline. Today, our reach extends into classrooms, homes, and communities across the country — preparing the next generation of scientists, innovators, and industry leaders to shape the $600B beauty marketplace.
Lab leaders don't just learn about beauty. They design brands, develop formulations, conduct user testing, pitch product concepts, and experience the full lifecycle of innovation — transforming curiosity into a viable career pathway. In 2026, we launched pilot programs in Hillsborough County Public Schools, bringing The Science of Beauty directly into Tampa Bay classrooms and expanding access to students across the district.
Since 2021, five students have gone on to pursue STEM-related degrees at institutions like the Savannah College of Art & Design and North Carolina A&T.
Intentional strategic partnerships enhance the engagement of lab leaders participating in any of our programs or initiatives. We've collaborated with Spelman College, Mielle Cosmetics at Procter & Gamble, STEM NOLA, Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA), Bask & Lather Co., Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), STEM Atlanta, Estée Lauder, Neiman Marcus of Tampa, The City of Tampa, Jo Malone, Canviiy, Sephora, and Chanel.
Our work with organizations, industry leaders, educational institutions, and local administrators has ensured that on-the-ground programming supports the growing interests of future STEM leaders -- aligning with our mission to empower, equip, and spark possibilities for the next generation of policymakers, entrepreneurs, formulators, and thought leaders.
Each partnership is thoughtfully curated to amplify our shared impact. Through innovative programming, access to resources, or mentorship opportunities, together, we've been able to deliver transformative experiences, while fostering a community where curiosity can flourish.

GUEST MENTORS
The beauty industry is a science industry. Yet the professionals working at its intersection — in cosmetic chemistry, R&D, product development, and regulatory science — are rarely visible to the students who could one day lead it.
We change that.
Since 2021, we've been able to bring in 30 thought leaders into our classrooms. Women like Manessa Lo, Temple Leigh Lester, Dr. Ashley M. Taylor, Dr. Maxine Cain, and more, have shared their insights, experiences, and unique perspectives with our future Lab Leaders.
Students have toured cosmetic laboratories, HBCU college campuses, luxury stores, museums, and so much more!
At The Science of Beauty, we believe in the power of hands-on learning opportunities. We know that exposure supports identity formulation, self-confidence, and well-rounded leadership development.
While our participants mainly have experiences around the intersections of science, beauty, and innovation -- we also dive into history and personal development. Students' explorations inspire their future careers and individual aspirations.
Every activation broadens their horizons and fuels their passion for STEM and the beauty industry -- exposing our girls to a vast world of possibilities around them.
