ATLANTA, GA November 2025– November 2025. The Science of Beauty proudly announces Bask & Lather Co., founded by nurse practitioner and entrepreneur Shaina Rainford, as a premier sponsor of its upcoming National STEM Day celebration: Rooted in STEM: The Power of Hair, Health, and Healing.

The event, hosted at Spelman College on Saturday, November 8, 2025 (10 a.m.–2 p.m.), unites thought leaders, students, and innovators to explore the intersections of science, beauty, and culture—spotlighting how hair, health, and healing connect to STEM education and career pathways.
Recently ranked No. 1008 on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies and No. 20 in retail/CPG, Bask & Lather Co. is the #1 Black-owned hair growth oil on Amazon and a TikTok Shop favorite. The company’s rapid success is rooted in science-backed formulas enriched with cultural integrity—making it a natural partner for this initiative.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Bask & Lather Co. Shaina Rainford’s journey reflects the work we do and the girls we serve,” said Sakeya Donaldson, Founder of The Science of Beauty. “It’s important for young women to see, by example, the limitless possibilities and solutions they’ll find in beauty, care, and STEM.”
The symposium will feature panel discussions with industry leaders, including Rainford, along with brand demonstrations, product giveaways (while supplies last), and moments of education and empowerment that celebrate the cultural and scientific significance of Black hair and beauty.
“At Bask & Lather Co., we believe that healthy hair starts with science. Supporting National STEM Day at Spelman is deeply meaningful because it allows us to empower the next generation of innovators to see the connections between science, beauty, and culture. Our journey began with a family solution rooted in science, and today we’re proud to show young women that they, too, can transform ideas into impact.” — Shaina Rainford, Founder & CEO, Bask & Lather Co.
Tickets are $15 for students with ID and $30 for general admission. The event is made possible in partnership with Spelman College Cosmetic Science Program, STEM Atlanta Women, Fly Girl Approved Hair Perfume, and Bask & Lather Co., with additional support from a broad coalition of educators, sponsors, and community partners.
