Invest in the Future: The Empower U Summit

This past weekend, I was honored to represent The Science of Beauty at the EMPOWER U Summit, an incredible event presented by Jack and Jill Tampa Bay. Hosted at Feeding Tampa Bay this year's summit brought together young minds and leaders across sports, STEM, and business for a day filled with inspiration and education.
As the founder of The Science of Beauty, an organization dedicated to exposing young girls to exciting opportunities at the intersection of STEM and beauty, I was thrilled to share my passion with those attending the summit. My session focused on how beauty and fashion intertwine with STEM, sharing my professional journey and how these fields can serve as pathways for innovation and self-discovery.
It was such a rewarding experience to connect with these ambitious young women. We explored self-esteem, confidence-building, and the often-overlooked science behind beauty and fashion. From formulating cosmetics to designing innovative beauty technology, STEM is at the heart of many aspects of the beauty industry. I wanted the girls to walk away feeling encouraged to see themselves as part of this future.
The EMPOWER U Summit wasn’t just about information— but about transformation. Watching these young women engage in discussions, ask thoughtful questions, and dream boldly about their futures reminded me why this work is so important. Representation matters, and creating spaces where girls can see themselves reflected in STEM and beauty -- while showing up as themselves -- is a key part of our mission at The Science of Beauty.
Reflecting on the experience, I’m reminded of the power of collaboration and community. Events like the EMPOWER U Summit provide a platform to plant seeds of curiosity and possibility.
I am deeply grateful to Jack and Jill Tampa Bay for organizing this impactful event and inviting me to share my story and vision. Together, we're helping to create a world where young girls can see the beauty in science—and The Science of Beauty.
